We are pleased to announce: WAVE WEEK PLUS-MOLDOVA 2010
When: August 7-16, 2010
Where: Camp Andreis near Chisinau, Moldova
Who: Teens between the ages of 13-17 from all countries (Note: You must arrange all transportation to and from Camp Andreis.)
How: Apply by June 25, 2010 (after June 25, a 15-euro late fee is required)
Cost: 1400 Moldovan Lei (approximately 90 euros,) payable upon notification of acceptance
What is WAVE WEEK PLUS-Moldova?
Our nine-day residential camp (a week plus 2 extra days) will be filled with a variety of fun & interesting classes and activities, all conducted in English. Classes are hands-on, interactive, and lively. Campers will learn and practice leadership, team work, conflict resolution, communication, public relations, and project planning & management. We will plan and organize a community service event for a group of local children, and will end camp with a fun social event.
This educational camp, filled with fun activities and inter-active learning experiences, will be staffed with counselors from several European countries and teachers from the USA. So do not hesitate to take up the challenge and become one of the lucky participants. You will practice your English skills, make new friends, gain new ideas, participate in real-life projects, and be eligible to earn a scholarship.
One student attending WAVE WEEK PLUS-Moldova will be selected by teachers and staff to receive a tuition & travel scholarship to WAVE WEEK 2011 (our camp in the USA). Selection will be based upon participation and leadership during camp and community service activities after camp.

Our Staff
Camp STW-Moldova is being organized by representatives of SPARK THE WAVE in cooperation with a local planning team. The Staff will include professional teachers from the USA. Members of our staff have participated in WAVE WEEK (our camp in the USA) as well as other leadership camps in China, Bulgaria, Romania, and USA.
What is ”SPARK THE WAVE”?
SPARK THE WAVE is a non-profit educational organization (NGO) registered in the USA. Its mission is to empower youth through educational programs to be great community leaders and volunteers. We believe that teens CAN and DO make a difference! SPARK THE WAVE is not affiliated with any religious or political group. It promotes diversity and cross-cultural friendship and understanding. We believe that local communities are connected with the global community, and we strive to develop situations in which youth from different countries can learn, work, and play together. In past summers, several youth from Europe have participated in WAVE WEEK (takes place in Philadelphia, USA). In past summers, several youth from Europe have participated in Wave Week, our summer camp in Philadelphia, USA. Last summer we brought our program to Moldova to further international friendship. This summer will be our second summer in Moldova. Also, this summer, two Moldovan teens will go to Wave Week USA.
We also recognize that fluency in the International Language—English--is important for the leaders of tomorrow. All classes and activities will be in English, providing an excellent opportunity to practice and improve English skills. The native and proficient English-speaking teachers and staff will also be eager to engage in casual conversation with you, in English of course.

Moldova is situated in the Eastern part of Europe, between Romania and Ukraine. It is a beautiful country with a unique history and hospitable, friendly people. To avoid a 15-euro late charge, applications must be received no later than June 25, 2010. Between June 25 and July 25 you must pay 15 euros.
